An individual of the Double-collared Seedeater (Aves, Sporophila caerulescens) exhibiting a beak deformity was recorded during an occasional observation in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The deformity may be congenital in origin and potentially associated with the accumulation of agricultural pesticide compounds or exposure to infectious agents. Such records contribute significantly to the elucidation of ecological factors in future studies.
